| Chris Galgay - Trustee, MEABT | This is the fourth in a series of biographical articles about each of the Trustees for the Maine Education Association Benefits Trust. It is intended to introduce you to our leadership as well as to demonstrate the breadth and variety of experience of the people on the board.
Chris Galgay has been serving as a Trustee on the MEABT for almost eight years. He also has been serving as president of the Maine Education Association for the past four years and before that as MEA vice-president. Chris’ journey into the education took him on a long and winding path.
His first step on his career ladder was when he went to work for New England Telephone in 1971. Over the next decade and a half Chris worked as a school bus driver, a truck driver, an interstate bus driver and other jobs as well. In 1985 he moved to Maine and finally decided it was time to pursue his dream to teach.
