Ar-ACTE and AEA partner to advocate teacher preparation programs

The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) and the National Education Association recently announced a partnership to strengthen teacher quality at both the state policy level and in teacher preparation programs. As a part of this project, the Arkansas Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (Ar-ACTE) and the Arkansas Education Association have established a state level partnership that will advocate for teacher preparation programs and legislative policies to assure the preparation of high quality effective teachers in Arkansas.
 
Dr. Angela Sewall, Dean, College of Education at UALR and Richard Hutchinson, Director, AEA Government Relations and Instructional Issues gave a presentation today on the partnership to the Joint Meeting of the Senate and Higher Education Committees. More news and information about the Arkansas Partnership for Teacher Quality (Ar-PTQ) will be posted soon.
