Rep. Maloch Seeks Funding Sources HB 1413

Representative Bruce Maloch, D-Magnolia,  who is co-chairman of the Joint-Budget committee, is diligently working with House Speaker Robbie Wills, D-Conway, and Reps. Curren Everett, D-Salem,  and Bill Abernathy, D-Mena,  to find additional funding for HB 1413.

HB 1413, an appropriation bill to authorize funding for the Public School Employee Health Insurance program, would authorize an additional $25 million for the health insurance program in the 2009-2010 fiscal year. The bill is sponsored by Rep. Bill Abernathy, D-Mena, and 79 other House members. Sen. Jimmy Jeffress, D-Crossett, is the lead Senate sponsor, and there are currently 18 other Senate co-sponsors.

AEA members who reside in Representative Maloch’s district should congratulate him for his efforts to find additional funding for health insurance. You can find Rep. Maloch's contact information online. Go to www.capwiz.com/nea/ar/state/main/?state=AR&view=myofficials
